Missing the parkinglot

Not much going on these days with it being early Spring. Working all day and too cold to out and practice. I can't wait to get the parking lot cleaned up from all the glass and crap and sharpen up the dots, then sharpen up the skills.
My parking lot buddy is putting her bike back together and maybe soon we will have some more new clips of us kicking butt in the parking lot. 
I have been thinking about my friend Karen who I helped last year. She was a brand new rider and now she is riding in the up  coming Conga III in July.
I can't believe she is going to take the NWMS course.. I am so damn proud of having anything to do with that.. I am going to try my damnest to get down there for her last 2 days to encourage, or to ride it again myself. They have already offered me that.
Anyway here is hoping for sunshine!!

I Just talked to John, a very nice man at ICBC.  He confirmed to me, that there are no issues with what I am doing as far as selling the DVD'S as long as I am not saying I will give you lessons only if you buy my DVD.  I knew there would be no issues, as I have NEVER charged.. I think I was just angry the way it was dealt with, someone coming to my shop and talking pictures of the DVD'S  and then of me. Oh well, I'm over it now and usually things happen for a reason. He figures I am a pretty good candidate for an instructor.

I did say, if I go through with this, she will be begging me for lessons so she can Ride Like a Pro. lol

Flo, I have MSF instructors come to my class that have been teaching for years and they can't make a simple u-turn.  So, you should be able to do this while sleep walking.  Unless,you convince yourself that you can't.  Like when you state'' I'm bad at taking tests''. Statements like that, will assure failure.  But, if you look at this rationally, what could they ask you on a test that you don't already know?  Will they ask you to explain nuclear fusion or Eienstien's theory of relativity?  I don't think so.  I'm betting they will give you the answers to the tests while your in the class.  Pay attention and give them the answers they want.  Don't argue with them, just yes them to death and your done.  Simple and easy.

If at first you don't follow your heart's voice, then the reminders or "knocking on your door" gets louder and LOUDER until you answer the damn thing!!! LOL... and open new doors of opportunity (instructor training??)~ courage is the key!!! AND~ you have an army of lovin' people standing behind you & supporting you!!!!

2 words for the other person creating drama... COMPASSION (she must be very insecure & low on self esteem to make trouble like this) and... FORGIVENESS (for you just as much as her, don't waste your bright energy on someone trying to drag you down) Maybe this is a "life lesson" in progress for her too??

I'm going to do it!!

After a lot of thinking  and procrastinating about  actually becoming certified in B.C. I have decided to proceed. Seeings I am being reported to ICBC for illegally teaching people how to ride and improve on their skills. I thought long and hard, no matter the cost financially that, it is time. If I keep waiting for the right time, I will be too old.

After being stalked by that women, taking pictures of me and screaming that I need to get licensed, I called ICBC and the BC instructors inspector whatever place. When they knew me by name, I thought it was time. I called them back and said, send me some paper work. I may as well get paid for something I love doing. I don't regret a moment of my time helping anyone improve. It keeps me on top of things, and like Motorman says, they are  perishable skills.  I am nervous as hell thinking about changing my career after 30 years of snippin hair. I have had some great support and private letters encouraging me to do it. Most of all from Donna Palladino, so I say it is time!! I know it will take time and money and patience, but I seem to have learned that a lot in the last year too. A test..I am always being tested. One of these fine days...I will find out how to pass the test.

Frustrated!

I was out with my friend Jason again, who is a new rider. We were taking him on his first little road trip to Qualicum. I wanted to give him a couple little pointers before we hit the road. Well I just talked to the instructor inspector and told him, what went on. I admitted I said I sell the DVD's and have said I can show you how to use it if you like. That is a no no.. but after talking to him, he said, I think you are a good candidate for an instructor, maybe you should think about it. I am thinking he is right!

Hey Flo; not sure how it is in your neck of the woods, but HD is always looking for instructors; especially women - for the women. And I figure they won't need to be doing a lot of training with you, from what I have seen; you may teach some of them a few things.
Go with the Flo: and don't take any shit; give that little 250 bitch some of her own medicine.

Sounds to me like she feels threatened by you Flo - and jealous. I agree, maybe you should consider being an instructor. The fact that you've been helping people to be proficient and safe riders because you want them to be safe and out of the goodness of your big heart ... and is completely aside the selling rlp dvds. Keeping those points of discussion seperate may help ;)

I also agree with teaching for HD. All the HD dealers down here do the teaching educational. On a regular basis. And guess what,"IT'S NOT FREE" Gussie took it at one of the Colleges Down here just as a refresher, because she had been riding our trike for two years. She just decided she wanted two wheels. I think it cost about $250.00. Worth every penny. And since you have "SO MUCH SPARE TIME ON YOUR HANDS" And don't need any beauty sleep, I think you should consider it. ("LMAO!!!")

Flo...sounds to me like she is lonely and feeling left out. I think that you should personally invite her to practice with you in the parking lot.Then being a good friend as you are, you should join her as being an instructor.**Of course then people would want you as their instructor and not her and she would lose hold on the market, but that is not your fault.You simply did what she wanted (being a "good friend" that you are), and started getting paid.....LOL

Miss Flo, I am 55 years old. I got out of school in 73. I have not read a book since I got out of school. I hate reading. But before I had to retire my trade was Pattern making, Tool and Die. And programming and operating The new CNC computerized milling machines like the ones they use to cut the fancy motorcycle wheels. We programmed the parts on ... YUP, I confronted her... She is a driving instructor up here, came out and was taking pictures while I was helping a friend on Sat.. Screaming at me to go get my license. She even called me by name...I called her on it, and asked her why she was stalking me, didn't she have anything better to do on her day off. I said why are you taking pics of me... She promised I would loose my license and my bike by the time she was finished with me.. So I reported her, and I am not finished let me tell ya! She admitted reporting me the year before last, so between that, and people worried that I am making money off RLAP DVD'S... Arggg they need to get a life!!
Maybe I should challenge her to a dual in the parking lot *shaking my head*

Bottom line, I am allowed to help my friends ride, as long as there is no money involved. Lets see, I sold a lot of DVD'S about 3 so now, I am going to loose my bike and licenses...NOT!!

From an outsider a province away, there is nothing illegal with what you are doing, mechanics do work on their friends vehicles all the time, plumbers, carpenters, other trades people do the same, your field of expertise just happens to be motorcycle riding. Just because you are willing to share your knowledge is obviously ruffling some feathers, but not illegal, so this person doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Jody, I think I would be proud to say to my kids,I make a difference in helping have safer riders. Sharing what was given to me. Also that I finally stood up for myself and did what I have to do...Get certified in BC, maybe then, they will leave me alone!
