My Man in the parking lot with me!!
It is very obvious that Rob listens to his nagging woman about RLAP. This is the bike he bought from Motorman that I rode home from Hudson Florida. The way I got him into the parking lot was to tell him I would not post any clips unless he gave me permission. He gave me permission this morning by the way. He was very happy with his results and can't wait to get out there again tonight and practise to smooth it all out. I wouldn't be surprised if he was out there practising right now while I am at work.
I have to say from all the people I have worked with Rob has been the quickest at improving.
He knows where his faults are and the main one was foot dragging or duck walking the bike. All it means is that he wasn't in total control. He was afraid to use the back break while in the friction zone, putting a little power to the rear wheel and using a little more throttle. I made him lead home and was so proud and happy to see him not put his feet down once before the bike stopped. He would look over at me with a smirk on his face, and I would wink and have a huge grin on mine.. Nice!! I'll just bet he'll be riding circles around me in no time flat or at least with me.
The other thing I notice that Rob did, was the head and eyes the most important of all, once he scoped out the situation, he trusted himself snapped his head and eyes. There was only a couple times that he looked at a curb, and once at my QUEEN...lol
I cant wait till 5pm to get out there again with my man!!

A little bit of practise
So we did a few figure eights and just before, I left I couldn't resist to scrape a full circle as I saw 4 people out of the corner of my eye watching and a way I went, ponytail flopping in the air. Smile on my face, but I still get knots in my stomach. I guess that means, I am still not confident enough yet.

Today some guy came into my shop and gave me a pic of his Harley for rent. I told him I would try and help him rent it. He says to me, what's this RLAP SHIT?? I explain about how lucky I am to have met and practised and bla bla, how I keep trying to push my limit and challange myself. I asked him if he knew what I was talking about , and he said.. Hell no.. I just wing it... I been riding for 40 years and never had a problem so why would I have a problem now... Yup...wingin it!!
Changed my mind.
Message from my mentor!
You made the WRONG decision. LISTEN TO ME THIS TIME. USE THEIR BIKES. i KNOW WHAT i'M TALKING ABOUT. I'll say it again so it sinks in. USE THEIR BIKES.
Their course is set up for their bikes. They don't care if you drop their bikes. If you hit that wall, your on THEIR bike.
P.S. USE THEIR BIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. are you getting the message?

Intersection Valklyrie Vgirl with Hubby Ride Like a Pro
This is my girlfriend Vgirl whom I spend so much time with in the parkinglot. She has only owned this bike 2 months. She had an old 750 Nighthawk. Just goes to show you, how if you use the 3 techniques Motorman shows you in his Ride Like a Pro DVDS you too can ride like this even with someone on the back. This is the very FIRST time she has tried it. It was unexpected that is why Mark is wearing my ponytail. He just came to visit her at the parking lot.

Here is my friend Vgirl doing the same thing on a bigger bike. This is a Valkyrie.. Big freaking bike it is. This is her first night trying this exercise and she is doing great!! Tanya has only been riding this bike a couple of months. I am very proud of her. She did better than me.
Tanya and I spend most of the time together in the parking lot. We are the ol faithfuls. But is is so much fun to watch the improvement and pic each other up when we think we are loosers at certain things. We can pout and the other one pull the other out of the poor me attitude we can get ourselves into.
Dead Stop Right and Left trun
Some may think this is an easy exercises. It so is not. Simple techniques they say.. Definitely the head and eyes come into play here. You have to snap your head and eyes and handle bars, just as soon as the bike moves. I definitely need more practise on this. This will be my this weeks challenge before I move any farther. Next will be the FULL LOCK TURN AT A STOP. I did practice it tonight. The cones through me right off. I manage with out them a lot better. In other words, it is easier if you cheat. You know you are getting good when you don't let the damn pylons deter you. They are obstacle in a nasty road, I tell myself. But first I will master the technique and then the obstacles, and then tighten it up more. This area was 8 ft... I know, I know big cheater , but Tanya is new to her bike and we needed some cheating space.
We went to the Dollarama and bought a bunch more cones tonight. I think they think, we are cone freaks. Good deal, and they have the coolest saying on them, like...GOOD JOB, YOU DID, GREAT WORK, EXCELLENT BLA BLA..
It was a fun night got home at 8 after work, time goes by when your having fun. Watch for Tanya and her big arsed Valkyrie doing this exercise.

Snow man
This excercise is called the snow man. 3 circles, the first one 24, second 20ft and the 3rd 18ft. I found it very easy and we didn't stay long on that one. Dave is a very good instructor and is amazing how he can just set up the excercises with out measuring other than his feet. He is not afraid to say you are doing good if you are or tell you where you went wrong.

Flo Ride Like a Pro Police Course
I took this course Aug2/09. Fortunately there was only 2 in the class and we got one on one attention.
Day in the parking lot with Dave Haye
Dead stop left and right turn
This looks easy, it is not. It is once you figure that you are the boss of your hoss and it is all in the friction zone head and eyes, rear brake.. simple...Try it! It is only 6ft wide the path way.
